Explore patients being involuntary and voluntarily committed to psychiatric institutes.

Explore patients being involuntary and voluntarily committed to psychiatric institutes. Patients can voluntarily commit themselves to avoid trouble situations, e.g., jail or court appearances but may not truly be seeking help to better themselves. They also use this as a way to have a place to sleep, eat and feel safe. Patients can be involuntarily committed by anyone who feels theyre harm to themselves. I have seen at my place of domestic employment situations where a wife/husband is involuntarily committed based on the verbiage of the other spouse. Patients can also be involuntarily committed by law enforcement. I will explore possible commitment alternatives and what situations make voluntary and involuntary commitments necessary.
