*   Discourse how your career/ major/ discipline thinks about itself in relation to other disciplines, how it credentials, are there schools or traditions of practice, is there a private vs public economic/political dimension, etc.;
*   Rhetoric – what are the expectations for communication within your discipline and with those outside your discipline
