Great Depression and Great Recession

The Great Recession of 2007-2009 is called the Great Recession for a reason—it was the deepest and longest recession in the US since the Great Depression of the 1930s. The two are not the same but, beyond their names, there are striking similarities between the Great Depression and Great Recession.
