The course textbook An Introduction to CommunityHealth refers to teens and their risky behaviors. The number ofsingle parent households with children under the age of eighteen continues torise. Unemployment is higher for teens and young adults, especially forminority populations. Health behavior and lifestyle choices are tested duringthis timeframe, with tobacco use, underage drinking, abuse of prescriptionillegal drugs, and risky sexual behavior.
