Institutional Racism Participation

For this discussion board, you will need to watch one of two documentaries. If you have access to Netflix or Amazon, you can watch the documentary, 13th (it’s a great up-to-date documentary), But, if not, there is a documentary available through the library’s website (see the link in the folder)– Broken on all Sides.

After watching, you will answer the following questions.

1. Why is this an example of institutional and/or structural racism? Be specific with examples.

2. What is one thing you learned from the film?

3. How might we think about changing the high levels of mass incarceration for black men in the United States?
