Linguistic assignment

Read the following article:

Personal pronouns (I, you, he, she etc.), as function words, are a closed class in English (and most languages, for that matter). This means that unlike content words, they cannot gain “new members”.  This notion has been “violated” recently by certain movements that are trying to add new, gender-neutral pronouns, such as “zhe”. “zi” or “thon”.  Do you believe they will eventually stay and it’s just a matter of time, or do you think such innovations are unnecessary and forced? Feel free to express and justify your position without being afraid or projecting what others might expect you to believe.
