Normandy invasion brief

It is June 10, 1944. You are an officer on General Dwight Eisenhower’s war staff. The Normandy invasion is going well. Several new officers have been added to the staff. The general orders you to brief the new officers on the current situation, including some background leading up to the invasion. You are asked to provide the general with a written summary of what these new officers need to know.
Your brief should address the topics below.

Identify individuals or groups involved.
Discuss the impact of new innovations and technologies for U.S. soldiers, sailors, airmen, or marines over the last couple of years.
Discuss how the U.S. Army, Navy, Army Air Forces, or Marines were utilized in the invasion and in prior engagements in Europe.
Provide important events and operations that have led up to Operation OVERLORD and the invasion itself.

Your brief should be properly written, professional, and to the point. Eisenhower wants these men fully up to speed on the current situation.
